Amy MacDonald [born August 25th 1987 in Glasgow, Scotland] is a Scottish singer-songwriter. Amys lyrics are often written in a typical pop style. She has stated in interviews that her lyrics are based on real life issues and situations rather than the melodramatic lyrics offered by other artists of her age.

This Is The Life is the No.1 debut album by Amy Macdonald. Taking her musical cues from Travis, The Libertines and Razorlight, the album brims with well-crafted songs sung passionately.The album was released on July 30th 2007 in the UK on Vertigo Records. The first single from the album was Poison Prince [a limited release], while the debut first full single was the sucessful Mr. Rock and Roll. The following singles L.A., and This Is the Life have all charted reasonably well in the UK. The confirmed fourth single is Run, and is scheduled for release in the UK on March 3rd 2008. As of December 16th 2007, over 300,000 copies have been sold in the UK, certifying it Platinum. On January 13th 2008 the album jumped five places to the No.1 spot on the official UK Albums Chart and at the time of writing [February 21st 2008] remains in the top ten at No.7. The final track of the album contains a hidden track Caledonia, which I have extracted for your listening convenience.
