Andrea Jane Corr MBE [born May 17th 1974 in Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland] is the lead singer of Irish pop-rock band The Corrs and an actress. Although her voice is her greatest instrument, she also plays the tin whistle for the band. The Corr siblings were awarded honorary MBEs in 2005 by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of their musical talents and their charitable work which raised money for Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, victims of the Omagh Bombing, and other charities.
Ten Feet High is Andrea Corrs debut solo album. Previously entitled Present, the album is produced by Nellee Hooper whose credits include U2, Gwen Stefani, Madonna And Bjork and is executive produced by U2s Bono. The album was released on June 25th 2007 with the lead single, Shame on You [to Keep My Love from Me], being released a few days prior to that. All the songs on the album have been composed by Andrea herself, save for one, a cover of the first Squeeze hit Take Me Im Yours. If you are expecting songs just like the Corrs did, forget it. This album wont be for you. Andrea is showing us a much bolder side as she steps out on her own with this album.
